David de Büren 1640-1705

David was the third son of David de Büren (1614-1659) and Marguerite de Bonstetten (1619-1685). He grew up at Vaumarcus and held the title of Lord of Seftigen. During his youth he travelled extensively within Europe and visited numerous princely courts in France, Holland, England and Germany. He was sent as a cavalier d'honneur and ambassador numerous times to the court of the Duke of Savoy. He would never marry. David did much to protect and assist French Protestant refugees, and donated generously to those less fortunate.
